Hey y’all we are back again with another issue!!
This year has flown by it feels like, I can’t believe it’s already October? I also feel like October is such a busy month with so much going on. I think the rush of the holidays starts to kick in with this month.
Everyone gets really hype for Halloween, where they start decorating, making cute spooky treats, and then there's the 31 days of Halloween movie challenges. Next thing you know, everyone is starting to talk about the holidays and what their plans are! Everyone gets into serious holiday mode during this time.
Well, I wanted to initially honor Hispanic Heritage Month with this issue, which was September 15 - October 15. I’d like to take a moment to just acknowledge all of the ambitious, intelligent and amazing Hispanic women that have made history and continue to make history. There are so many names to highlight in so many industries, so just, thank you for being you.
Who is someone you know, or know of, that is of Hispanic heritage that inspires you? Let us know in our email or through Instagram. We might even feature your inspirations on our social media!
I also wanted to callout that the United States presidential election is very close. Literally weeks away. If you take away nothing else from this newsletter, I encourage you all to at least do your due diligence and educate yourself about the current state of politics in the United States.
Look at what the issues are, look at what is important to you, and look at how those issues will change or be affected by the proposed plans of each politician running. Make sure you fact check your sources and get out there to vote if you’re eligible.
There's a lot of serious issues being discussed and your vote can help determine how we as a country will tackle these issues. No matter what your voting plans are, it is so important -- especially as women of color -- to stay involved and to stay informed.
I appreciate each and every one of you that continue to read these each month, or even if this is the first or second issue that you've read.
If you partake in the spooky activities, share some of your favorite things with us! We wanna see all the Halloween treats, pet costumes, some of your favorite movies - we love to know how you've enjoying your October.
Enjoy your spooky season, see you next month!!
Sincerely,
Kara Little
