Hi everyone!

I am so excited to launch this platform. For those of you that know me personally, you understand how passionate I am about women who share the same disparities as myself. To be a woman of color is to learn to love yourself and stand up for yourself in a whole new way. The experience of a woman of color is not teachable or understandable unless you’re literally living it.

There are so many spaces that have been around for decades that were built to intentionally exclude us. We were not wanted in the classroom, in the voting polls, in the workforce - and we still aren’t.

There are so many obstacles stacked against us and meant to tear us down to keep us from achieving success. Yet, we continue to thrive anyways.

Being a woman of color is not an easy assignment, but man do we wear it well. Despite all of the adversity that women of color experience due to our identity, we continue to bloom.

I want this space to be just as much yours as it is mine. I want you to express yourself as you see fit. I want to read your latest poetry, admire your recent photography, laugh with your comedic sketches, and so much more.

Thank you to all who came before me and paved the way for women of color to shine and thrive. I cannot wait to create this family of BIPOC women and their allies/supporters. Whether you’re reading this issue on our blog, subscribed to our newsletter, or following us on social media - thank you for taking the time to invest in this vision.

Welcome to Bloom in Color.
